REFORM UK South West Norfolk

Conservative leader of Norfolk County Council, Kay Mason Billig, made her decision to cancel Norfolk's May elections. - SHE MADE IT CLEAR IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF OUR RESIDENTS.

WE WERE NEVER INVOLVED, NEVER ASKED, NEVER INFORMED -

WHY?  BECAUSE WE THE PUBLIC ARE COMPLETELY INSIGNIFICANT!

In May 2026 there will be an election to appoint a single mayor. This mayor will oversee both counties of Norfolk and Suffolk.

Over the next two years, both Norfolk and Suffolk County Councils will be abolished. All district councils throughout both counties will also be abolished.

A new unitary authoritory with newly elected unitary coucillors will replace our current system.

Norfolk County Council is almost £1billion in debt. This Conservative led council is vastly incompetent forecasting an additional £50million debt next year.

The final plans for the structure of the new unitary authority has not yet been finalised and probably won't be until the end of 2025/26.

At this point no one can tell us where the actual offices of the newly appointed authority will be situated. But it's unlikely to be a town anywhere near you.

This whole scheme was rushed through by the current Conservative and Labour councillors without full and proper scrutiny.

Sounds quite a challenge, but we have something really powerful - we have you. Please join us and let's begin to put things right.

Norfolk & Suffolk set to scrap all County and District Councils - they will be replaced by a Single Tier Authority with one Mayor presiding over both counties
